Shreesh was founded in 2025 by Arnav Bansal, in Pitampura, Delhi. It is not old. The idea behind it is.
He asked the wrong question
Arnav Bansal was standing in a Delhi showroom in the winter of 2024, waiting for someone, when he watched a salesman sell a man a necklace. The man was buying it for his wife of nineteen years. The salesman asked him exactly one question, and it was about his budget. He never asked her name. He never asked what she was like. Forty minutes later the man left with the second-most expensive thing in the case, and he did not look happy — he looked relieved, the way you look when a chore is finished.
Arnav founded Shreesh in 2025 to be the opposite of that afternoon. There is no showroom here, no display case, no collection waiting to be moved. There is a room, a bench, and a long conversation. The stone is the last thing we choose — because until we know what the piece is *for*, a ruby and a sapphire are just two prices.
We are aware this is a slow and inefficient way to run a jewellery house. It is the only way we are interested in running one.
The stone is chosen last
Several stages, several months, and not one gemstone on the table until we know what the piece is for. The conversation comes first. The drawings come later. The stone — the part everyone assumes we begin with — is one of the last decisions we make.
